List of Prohibited Goods

Subject to the provisions of the Customs and Excise Act, 1995, Section 40, the importation into Zambia of the goods described below is prohibited:

Narcotics and Psychotropic Drugs
Pornographic Materials or any goods which in the opinion of the Minister are indecent, obscene or objectionable
Pirated and Counterfeit Goods and any goods bearing false or misleading marks or descriptions as to their origin, purpose and use
Goods produced using prisoners and child labor
Counterfeit notes and coins and any coin or bank notes that are intended for circulation in Zambia that are not legal tender in Zambia
Cultural artifacts and other objects of cultural importance
Qilika

Subject to the provisions of the Control of Goods Act, 1954, Section 3, No person shall import into Zambia any document or other article which:

Is, in the opinion of the President, subversive or seditious.
Is published or produced by an organization or emanates from a source which, in the opinion of the President, is subversive or seditious.
Is, if imported into Zambia, likely, in the opinion of the President, to be used in connection with subversive or seditious activities.

Subject to the provisions of Statutory Instrument No. 31 0f 2007, the importation into Zambia of the goods listed below is Prohibited:

Afzelia quanzensis logs (Mupapa)
Albizia spp.logs (Musase)
Bikiaea plurijuga logs (Mukusi)
Brachstegia spp. logs (Miombo)
Colophospermum mopane logs (Mopane)
Combretum spp. logs (Mulama)
Dalbergia spp. logs (Kafundula)
Entandrophragma delevoyi logs (Mofu)
Erythrophleum africanum logs (Kayimbi)
Faurea saligna logs (Saninga)
Guibourtia coleosperma logs (Muzauli)
Khaya anthoteca logs (Mululu)
Mitragyna spinosa logs (Mupa)
Pericopsis angolensis logs (Mubanga)
Pterocarpus angolensis logs (Mukwa)
Pterocarpus chrysothrix logs (Mukula)
Bobgunnia madagascariensis logs (Ndale)

Subject to provision of hte Environmental Management (Licensing) Regulations, 2013 (SI NO. 112 OF 2013) and Zambia being a state party to the Stockholm Convention,

the importation into Zambia of the following chemicals is hereby prohibited/banned, under section 40, paragraph 1

Mercury Compounds, including
Mercury compounds
Alkyl mercury compounds
Alkyloxyalkyl and aryl mercury compounds
Methamidophos
Monocrotophos
Parathion
Pentachlorophenol and its salt and esters

Toxaphene
All tributyltin compounds including:
Tributyltin fluoride
Tributyltin methacrylate
Trubutyltin benzoate
Tributyltin Chrolide
Tributyltin linoleate
Tributyltin naphthenate
Dustable powder formulations containing a combination of:
Benomyl at or above 7 per cent Carbofuran at or above 10 per cent, and Thiram at or above 15 per cent
Phosphamidon
Soluble liquid formations of the substance that exceed 1,000g active ingredient/1
2,4,5-T and its salts and esters
Alachlor

Aldrin
Azinphos-nethyl
Bianapacryl
CaptafolCholordane

Subject to provision of The Environmental Management (Licensing) Regulations, 2013 (SI NO. 112 OF 2013) and Zambia being a state party to the Stockholm Convention, the importation into Zambia of the following chemicals is hereby prohibited/banned, under section 40, paragraph 1
