Process Steps

Step 1	The importer provides all necessary information pertaining to the growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants and gives the inspector access to the growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants.
Step 2	The inspection is carried out.
Step 3	If the growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants are not compliant, of which the importer is not satisfied within seven days of the date of the order, the importer may lodge with the Minister a notice of his intention to appeal against the order.
Step 4	If the growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants are compliant then the importer can proceed with the next steps to import the goods.

Importation Inspection requirement for Growing Media, Injurious Organisms, Invertebrates or Plants	Inspection Requirement		An importer of growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants and his servants and agents shall afford an inspector access thereto and shall give such information and provide such labour and facilities as the inspector may require for the purposes of carrying out any inspection, sorting, disinfection, fumigation or treatment of the growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants.	All growing media, injurious organisms, invertebrates or plants being imported into Zambia are required to undergo inspection, sorting, disinfection, fumigation or treatment.
